Ms. Kinion joined the firm as Of Counsel in June of 2007.  Her practice focuses on local, state and federal tax issues, succession planning for businesses and tax planning for estates and charitable giving, as well as property tax appeals and exemptions.  From 2008 to 2010, Ms. Kinion served as Chairman to the Sangamon County Board of Review.  This Board hears appeals regarding property tax assessed valuations.  Ms. Kinion is the first female to serve on this Board, and was its first female Chair.  Before becoming associated with Zack Stamp, Ltd., Dana Kinion held the position of associate counsel in sales tax and income tax at the Illinois Department of Revenue.  During her tenure as associate counsel, Ms. Kinion drafted and reviewed tax legislation, responded to taxpayer inquiries via General Information Letters and Private Letter Rulings and served as special counsel to several task forces within the Department, including unclaimed property reporting task force and heading up the team responsible for extensive revisions to the language of the Uniform Interest and Penalty Act.  While at the Illinois Department of Revenue, Ms. Kinion also served as legislative liaison to the Illinois House of Representatives.

Prior to practicing in Illinois, Ms. Kinion was an associate counsel assigned to the corporate division of the Oklahoma City law firm, McKinney & Stringer, P.C.  While at McKinney & Stringer, she also served on the litigation team for Phillip Morris in the tobacco litigation case of State of Oklahoma v. R. J. R. Reynolds, et al.
